Abstract

Anti-Indian bias can influence clients seeking psychotherapy. It isfurther complicated when this bias is experienced from a parental figure.It can lead to an internalised anti-Indian bias that may affect theindividual for many years. It may be further complicated by having one ormore intersecting minority identities. This article will reviewpsychotherapeutic case-study with a self-identified gayclient, whoexperiences anti-Indian bias within his family of origin. The article willpresent an integrated relational framework that can be utilised to assistclients with similar difficulties.
