Embracing diversity, ensuring equity: Holistic sexual health for a sustainable future

Abstract
To ensure a promising future for all, it isimperative to shift towards a comprehensiveand holistic approach to development. The Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), asproposed by The United Nations, provide acomprehensive roadmap to address global[1] challenges. The United Nations hasformulated 17 goals and targets to accomplishthem by 2030 in order to ensure and enhance[1-3] global welfare. Goal 3 of the SDGs focuses[4] on health and well-being. One of the SDGs(SDG 3.7 - sustainability and sexual health)highlights the interconnectedness of human[4] well-being and planetary health. Recognizingthe crucial role of sexual health in achievingsustainable development is a moral andstrategic necessity. SDG 3.7 has emphasizedensuring universal access to sexual andreproductive healthcare services and inclusionof sexual health in national programs and[4] policies. Similarly, goal 5 of the SDGsfocuses on achieving gender equality and[2] empowering women and girls. Goal 5 alsoplaces additional emphasis on sexual andreproductive health as well as safeguarding[2] reproductive rights.
