Abstract

Food, sleep, and sex arecommon requirements inanimals and humans. Sexual instinct is prevalent inanimals and humans equally. Only when one overcomesthis instinct and channelizes the urge and the energy in acontrolled way is real progress in life possible. As perancient Indian knowledge, semen or vital juice tones thenerves and brain and energizes the whole human body.By the vow of celibacy, one can preserve his vital forceand sublimate it into Ojas (shakti). Rtambharaprajna(true knowledge) comes from preservingveerya(semen). It is only possible by abhyasa (steady practice)for a long period. When men and women are involved insexual activities for procreation only, then it is the realobservance of Brahmacharya.
