Pornography addiction and adolescent sexuality

Abstract

Pornography addiction is rising in India due to easyaccess to the internet. Adolescence is a critical period forthe development of sexuality. The lack of correctinformation and curiosity regarding sex andrelationships make them turn to the world ofpornography. The ill effects of pornography addictionlead into adulthood as well. India has a sexually activegrowing adolescent population, but educational,healthcare, and other related facilities do not make spacefor a nuanced understanding of adolescent sexualityprimarily because of the social stigma attached.Measures should be taken to bridge this gap and raiseawareness amongst adolescents.
