Over the past few decades, scientificliteratures increasingly reporting aboutpornography addiction as a serious issue(Kar, 2016). Pornography is defined as theportrayal of sexual subject matter for thepurpose of sexual arousal using variousmeans that include books, magazines, drawings, videos, and video gaming. In otherterms, it is the depiction of the act ratherthan the act itself (George et al., 2019). Inrecent years, pornography viewing hasincreased significantly with easy access tointernet and mobile phones. Self-perceivedpornography addiction (SPPA) is becomingmore widely recognised as a phenomenon inscience and popular culture, with criticswarning of the alleged negative consequences.Despite this, ‘pornography’ or ‘pornaddiction’ is not a scientifically recognisedcondition, and scholars disagree on itsmeaning, whether it even exists (Duffy et al.,2016). Weiss (2014), a well-knownpsychotherapist who specializes in treatingsex and porn addiction, suggested thatregular watching of pornography for 12 ormore hours a week signals an addiction(Williams, 2017). In today’s world, pornographyaddiction can't be thought without thinkingabout the internet addiction as internet is themost common mode that deliverspornographic content readily to itsconsumers, whenever they need (Kar, 2016).
